Omnia excels at sub-field sampling to tailor nutrition applications.
It can compare historical grid and zonal sampling data with the latest analysis collected in new management zones or areas of specific interest within a field.
Soil samples can be collected by the grower, as part of the Omnia service, or by a third party and seamlessly uploaded into the Omnia software.
Another option for soil sampling is with TerraMap which offers over 800 data points per hectare, enabling growers and agronomists to make the most of precision technology.

Variable Seed
Determining the right seed rate requires consideration of various factors.
Omnia enables the creation of distinct maps for:
- Soil type
- Weed pressure
- Seedbed condition
- Slug pressure
Omnia can amalgamate and analyse these map layers using Multi-Dimensional Analysis to generate a hybrid “pattern” that integrates all the map layers.
It can also employ crop-specific algorithms to determine the optimal seed rate for each area of the field, based on the drilling date, target plant population, and map layer data.
PCN Control
Potato Cyst Nematode (PCN) is the most significant potato pest in the UK, capable of causing significant yield losses.
Omnia allows the comparison of historical PCN information with the most recent data, along with additional data like aerial photography. This enables growers to develop a more targeted approach to manage specific areas within the field.
Precision farming techniques should be used carefully to apply chemical treatments only where PCN has been detected. Undetected hotspots may exist in the sampled unit, or PCN could be present but not identified between hotspots. Due to the random occurrence of PCN in a field, an absence of eggs in a sample doesn’t guarantee that PCN-related problems won’t occur. Omnia should be part of an Integrated Pest Management strategy for PCN control.
